How to get there:
 Landmarks: Salford Quays, The Lowry, and Manchester United are all close. The Manchester United Football Ground is fairly well known and reasonably well signposted.
By car:
use M60, Junction 7, A56, direction Manchester City centre. The A56 (Chester Road) can be congested at peak times, as can the M60 (formerly M63) so allow enough time to cover the 5km or so. MU football ground is signposted and when you're close, very visible on the LHS. Turn down past the front entrance to the stadium and continue straight on over the A5081 to the T-junction with Trafford Wharf Road. Kratos, which now should be visible, is first on the left.
By Metro (Tram from City Centre)
Trafford Bar Metro station is about 10 minutes brisk walk (good on a fine day!) There are frequent trains from the city centre and outskirts. Old Trafford Metro station (adjoining Old Trafford cricket ground) and Pomona station are also about the same distance away. The MetroLink system has good (integral) connections with the mainline rail stations (Victoria, Piccadilly and others).
From the Airport:
Taxi is probably best - maybe 20 minutes and £20, but you can take a train to the centre and then the Metro.
