front page of application note MO528(A)In response to User demands our R&D group have worked hard to improve the cooling capability of the AXIS Supra+.  This latest development facilitates in-situ cryo-XPS experiments at temperatures below - 150 °C.  Cryo-XPS opens the possibility of analysing hydrated samples such as mineral suspensions or bacteria and other hydrated biological samples.

There are other of benefits in cooling samples during XPS analysis, including minimising X-ray induced sample damage.  In our latest applications note, the cryo-XPS accessory was used to minimise X-ray induced changes during analysis of an anode material of a lithium-sulfur battery.

The applications note can be found here.
